Cars 2

Went and saw the new Cars movie with my best buddy today! It was the first time that he has been to a theater and he LOVED it! I thought it was a pretty good movie too!

Where does the time go?

Wow! I can't believe it has been almost a year since I last updated! What the heck has been going on? Well, the biggest and most important thing is the arrival of the newest member of our family! Rachel Addison Petrik!

She was 7lbs 8oz. and I can't remember how long. She is just over three months now, and just smiles and coos and tries to talk to you. That is if shes not crying to be fed! In other news, I had a recent stay in the hospital. I woke up one morning to the beating of my heart at 160 bpm. It was Thursday, June 9th. So my brother in law rushed me to the ER, where they tried all kinds of things to slow it down. Even to the point of stopping my heart, TWO times! They were finally able to get it to slow down, and by 11:30 that night they had it slowed down and I was able to come off the IV meds. They kept me overnight, and the next morning the Dr. came in and said I could go home that afternoon! Yea! So by 4:30 I was home with new meds to control my heart rate! But by 9:00 that night, it started to go up again, and once again my brother in law rushed me to the hospital. So I got to spend the rest of Friday and Saturday morning in the ER again! I was admitted in the hospital again, and new meds were tried! This time they kept me in for a few days! I was finally able to come home on Tuesday the 14th! So far so good! My body is taking its time adjusting to the new meds though. I'm always tired and get worn easily. The Dr. said it would take about 4-6 weeks for me to adjust, but then I should be as good as new! I'm glad for that! Well, goodbye for now!

The new "hunters helper"

There is a new piece of equipment out there now for the hunter. Its been around for a long, long time, but is just now begining to be trained for hunting. Its called an alligator, they come in different sizes, and they usually get what they want. Depending on how much money you have, determines the size of the "gator" you can purchase. The more money you have, the bigger the gator you can get. The bigger the gator, the bigger your game will be.

Well, I guess I better start saving up now if I wanna be ready for deer season! Happy hunting!

Hog Hunting!!

Well I was able to go hunting recently, down in Punta Gorda. Went with Chris, a buddy from church. Thats him on the swamp buggy. What a fun time we had. Riding on the buggy was a blast. It was like a monster truck, nothing could stop it.

Well Chris got the first kill, about a 100 pound hog.

And the second kill, a five and a half foot long rattlesnake.
And I got nothing, except pictures of deer that I couldn't shoot.
I did have a great time though.

Oh well, deer season opens July 31st down here for archery. Hope I can see that buck again!

Finally.....

The day has finally come. What day is that? The day I was able to get a new bow. You see, my other bow was almost 20 years old, needed new parts that aren't made for it anymore, and was basicly about as accurate as a shotgun shooting an apple at 200 yds away. Well after scrimping and saving for a few months I was able to get me a new bow. A Hoyt Turbohawk. Oh what a bow. I got the Half n Half color scheme. Black riser and camo limbs. Its perfect for using in a blind or a tree stand. Its so quiet and shock free compared to my other one.

I'm enjoying it, shooting better, and just having alotta fun with it!

And the winner is..........

No one! Guess that was a hard one. Shoulda saved it for later. Oh well, Andrea Supe was in the right catagory though. The picture is of an arrowhead called the Gobbler Guillotine. Its designed for taking out turkeys with a bow and arrow.  This video is graphic!! Be Warned!!

Well, I'll have another contest soon. Hope you enjoyed the video!!

Anywho, the family is doin fine, gave Sam his summer haircut, his health is great, Ava is still a momma's girl, and the Mrs. and I are doing just great.

This will be a week long contest, with the winner recieving a uh...um... don't know yet. I gotta find something. Bear cub

This mount of a bear cub was done by Dale over at Center Shot. The cub had wandered in the street and got hit by a car. He is almost standing four feet tall, and is as big as a Rottweiler.

Streeeetch

Lately I feel like the Lord is really stretching my faith. Waiting till the 11th hour to provide whatever is that we need at that moment. And now, for instance, I got my truck back, only to find out that the radiator is slowing starting to go bad. Right at the time that work is about to skyrocket. I wish I knew what the Lord has in store for me, but if I did, I wouldn't need to rely on Him. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28. "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." Philippians 4:6. So now we have a command from God NOT to worry. So if I worry than I'm sinning. I should just pray about all my problems and stress related things, and God will take care of them. Maybe not the way I want them taken care of, but He will ease my burden and make it bearable. "So do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows." Matthew 10:31. Our God is truly an awesome God! Amen!

Let Me In

A man took a fancy to church notorious for its exclusiveness. He told the minister he wished to join. The minister sought to evade the issue by suggesting the man reflect more carefully on the matter, and pray for guidance.
The following day, the man told the minister: "I prayed sir, and the Lord asked me what church I wanted to join. When I told Him it was yours, He laughed and said, 'You can't get in there. I've been trying to get in that church for 10 years myself, and I can't get in.

Sam and the Lake

Went out today with my brother and Sam, and we stopped at a McDonalds so my brother could grab a bite to eat. Sam saw the "water" and asked if we could go see it. So we jumped out of the vehicle and he climbed up the fence. Got my Blackberry out and snapped the photo. I really love my little buddy!

The Ladies

Here's a picture of the two most favoritest women of my life. Can't believe the contrast in hair colors between them. Can't believe how long my little girls hair is for that matter!

Robin Hood

This has got to be my best shot as of yet. I've always wanted to do this, but after I did it I was like, "Man there went $10.00." I now have it hanging up in my garage, right next to the empty spot where the deer is gonna go. Wishful thinking? Hopefully not!

Spring Buck and Bobcat

This is a mount of a Spring Buck and Bobcat that Dale from Center Shot did. The Spring Buck is from Africa, and the Bobcat is from North Port.

A Life Long Dream

Something I've always wanted to do, but never had the opportunity, is to go hunting. Hunting with a bow and arrow. I'm really going to give it my best "shot" to get out there this season. My goals for this season is to get a deer, a turkey, and a hog. I've been getting a lot of advice from Skip at my church, and Dale from the local archery shop. Dale runs a great shop and taxidermy service over at Center Shot Archery. So hopefully I'll get to go hunting and get me a turkey for Thanksgiving this year!

Ain't she cute?
